photo. But Susan Simpson has a surprise. This photo was taken in Lincoln, California, July 4, 1925. Susan's Grandfather, Fred Wind Sr.. was employed by Gladding McBean. This picture was taken while on a camping trip to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Susan's Grandmother, Lena Wind, is sitting next to the driver. Susan's Dad, Fred Jr. is in the middle looking directly at the camera.
The following description written by Grandma Lippy on back of photo. Mary Ellen Lippy (on left with knickers) Fred Wind J. (x in center) Lena Wind (x at camp stove) Also written as follows. This picture was taken up in the Siera Nevada Mountains. My oldest Daughter ( at the stove ) & her family and a bunch of her friends on a camping trip 4th of July. They sure got nice broad sides from the back, Any way we had a wonderful time.

Wind family with friends enjoying the outdoors
Another camping pastime to be sure !!!!!! White Lightening? This is the actual discription as written on the reverse side of photo #2 on the left hand side.
This is not a Wind photo. It is merely to show some of the tremendous variety of scenery in the wonderful State of California. From Sequoia National. Park, Yosemite National Park, vast farming, hundreds of miles of Pacific Ocean Coast line and state of the art city skylines, it is easy to see why the Wind family left Clayton, Washington, for the lure of California.
Whole camping group shot .... Wind family included.
Lena Lippy Wind (standing at right) with hand on Fred Senior's shoulder) and Fred Wind Jr. sitting in front with no hat.
Great old cars of the camping caravan!
More campers
Fred Wind Sr. in the early morning brewing that first pot of coffee on an open fire. Coffee never has nor never will get any better than that. Note from Webmaster. I made the above comments prior to receiving the following discription written on the back of this photo. This proves that even with a 50/50 chance you can still be wrong.
