Following the great donation (this year the proceeds went to the Clayton/ Deer Park Historical Society) breakfast and fun run all of Clayton people from miles around gathered in front of the Clayton Brickyard Tavern and up and down Railroad Ave. As far as you can see people wait in anticipation of the the CLAYTON DAY PARADE. You are never disappointed. The dignitaries were out in force. Left to Right. Edward (Pudge) King Kingrey (Grandson of Walter Sr. and Clara King) Alan Berg, Clayton (Art) Stelting, Duane Costa, Jack Lewis, Honorary Mayor (chuckle) of both Deer Park and Clayton.
Historic personality lineup. Eddie Kingrey is greeted by Vera Wind Spalding, Matriarch of Clayton & Mother of Christine behind her. Joreen Peer, Eddie Olson (Patriarch of Clayton), Minnie Westby Hayworth enjoying the reception as is her husband Glen.
Margie Tobeck Malek gives a Brickyard Tavern welcome to her old School chum Eddie. She is also a former owner of this establishment.
Lyle Holcomb spots Eddie Kingrey. They have not seen each other for some 50 years or more.

Even Cheney, Washington, sent their Rodeo Queen to Clayton's parade.
There are absolutely oodles of children in the Parade and along the route.

One Blue 1960 Pontiac. Totally restored by 4 local men and it would have stolen the show had they entered it in the 2009 Clayton Day Parade.
Bill Sebright retired Arcadia School Teacher & Eddie Olson retired Washington Brick and Lime employee. Both full time Gentlemen.
The Military Dedication was headed by Lieutenant Colonel McMahan seen here. A special note, the family in the truck gives a heartfelt welcome to COL. McMAHAN and the Col. acknowledges them.
Because Rowena persevered, not only was Clayton a winner, but she was presented with a personal distinction award by Major General Lowenberg. There were only winners.
Dawson Trucking out of Valley, WA. This fine organization donated the cement for the base of the Eagle. We, the CDPHS, thank them for this very kind gesture.

Violet Nolan Westby Zimmerer, Grand Marshall of Clayton Day 2009, escorted by Randy Long of Clayton Drive In fame. Violet is the daughter of Ida Westby Nolan, who is the daughter of Ole T. and Helena Westby. Circa 90 years later she lives within a quarter mile of where she was born.

Every single year this little town comes alive and this is what it looks like in both directions. That's Andy Carlson in the blue shirt on the announcer's stand. Andy has been the Parade's announcer for many years. He always does a wonderful job.

Probably the two most Honored Grand Marshalls ever, WW II VETS and brothers Alan Berg and Tuffy Luhr. Clayton Day 2010, the year of the Eagle.
Upon orders from Major General Timothy Lowenberg which read as follows, “Rowena, either find a home for the Eagle or destroy it,” Rowena Valencia Gica through her own personal determination located the CDPHS, made a proposal which we accepted. The rest is history.
It seems each year produces another outstanding PEE WEE Rodeo Queen. This year is no exception. Katy is QUEEN FOR A YEAR. Congratulations to Katy and the same to her parents.
