Big Foot Valley was laden with Kelso's and Klawunders. Francis Kelso is Top Row 3rd from the left. She is Chuck Stewart’s aunt. Chuck knows much about Big Foot Valley & Clayton.
As the lady in this photograph is clearly identified as Mrs. Klawunder. It may be safe to say that these two children are Mildred Klawunder and her little brother Harold. Although all in this photo are deceased their offspring are sprinkled around the immediate area. A number of photos of the Klawunder family are shown below.
In 1933 Mr. George Klawunder was the owner of 80 acres located on the south east corner of Williams Valley Rd and Price Rd. This property was later owned by Norman and Mildred (Klawunder) Warren. Norm and Mildred had one son Harold and four daughters, Evelyn was the oldest. A search is underway for additional information about this photograph and the photograph on the right.

Harold Klawunder never missed a Clayton day. He passed away in 2007. His funeral service was conducted by Sue Robinson who is a Minister at the Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington, and a former co-worker of our editor Wally Parker.

Bob Clouse and Evelyn (Warren) Tilson(?) reunited friends from the late 40s at the Deer Park Settlers Picnic in 2007.

This was once thought to be the Carr homestead. But, as we always hope, Teresa Carr Broman gave us the correct information (see below). This is the Hilderbrand house at Spangle. The Hilderbrands were Teresa's mother's parents and grandparents.
This is the old house that was on the Carr farm. It burned down in the early 1950s.
