The three boys on the steps of the Log home. As the boy s grew so did the family. This homestead was located at Freeman WA where Ingle King, father of Walt King Sr. settled. Then Walt Sr. and his wife Clara pulled up stakes from Freeman, They moved to a number of places including Canada but finally relocated a half mile south of Clayton. There the boys grew and so did the family. Four girls were added. The boys grew into all around athletes but their true love was Boxing.
Walt King Jr shadow boxing very early in his Ring career
Following an illusrious amature boxing career, Walt stepped up to the professional ranks. He was a two fisted fighter packing a lethal punch with either hand. The man was formidable.

Walt Jr. followed his Fathers footsteps in law enforcement who followed his father Ingle King's footstep's.
Mr. King was involved in law enforcement far beyond Deputy Sheriff. Which hat he was wearing here is anybodys guess. But the next picture is a surprise.

There were stills scattered around in the Spokane and Stevens County area. One has a tendency to believe they disappeared when Prohibition ended, but not so. In fact you can hear rumors of stills even today.
After all those years and all the excitement, one of the most gratifying memories. BOXING
