WW I along the Arizona-Mexican border was fought a bit differently. In the 7th Cavalry you had to curry, feed, and water your horse. You had to give them some attention and maybe a lump of sugar. Today you must take good care of your Humvee with not much need for pampering. They don't nicker at you either. Here Red Sebright and his buddy putting out the wash.

This rock is located in the Sebright woods. It's always been a meeting place for the different generations. It's been named Tombstone Rock. One cloudy day back in 1953 Red Sebright and friend Carl "Happy" Macheel took a walk out to Tombstone Rock. Happy and his wife Gerry were like Godparents to the Sebright boys. Red and Happy met back when they both worked on road construction. Everyone at home was waiting for the 2 to come home for dinner. A thick fog settled in. They didn't show and didn't show. The two finally showed up just about dusk. They had gotten lost, the fog didn't help any. They were hungry but happy. We didn't know until later that a different kind of fog had set in. Happy had taken a pint of whiskey with him. Red and Happy came home, but the bottle was never found.
This is the oil painting Anni Sebright did of the Sebright barn that is pictured above.

Put a feisty, rambunctious young man on a mount of equal caliber and you most likely will be afforded a very desirable result.

Dressed in their Sunday best headed to Sunday School at Clayton Community Church, spring, 1959. It may have been when Cliff Truman came out from Whitworth College to work with the youth. All knew he was a wonderful guy. John, Chet, Red, and little Billie in front. Red would drop the boys off and go to Carl and Ray's to visit while they boys were at Sunday School. Iva would have some well deserved alone time. She worked the whole time "the boys" were gone.
