There isn't an individual remaining who could tell us where the very first Clayton School was located. but it has since been established that this is the Protestant Sunday school class, Luella Milner suspects that the student dead center second row could possibly be her mother who dates back to the existence of the early years of the Church.

Mr. Art Stelting joined our April 11th CDPHS meeting and promptly identified every last soul in this 1938 - 1939 photograph. He did likewise for another Class picture when Carl Lyndh and Lyle Nord were still in school. Art has a gifted memory thankfully.
The year is yet in question but some names are left to right: Mable Christianson, Lyle Nord, Carl Lindh, Teacher, Miles King, ?, 2nd from right is Art Stelting. The students in this and the following photo were almost exclusively identified by Edward Kingrey the grandson of Walter and Clara King of Clayton. He attended Clayton Grade school and graduated from Deer Park High School. He happened upon this Website and is fast becoming addicted to it
