DONALD L. CLOUSE UNITED STATES ARMY. WW II. Home Town – Clayton, WA. A side note on the lighter side, Don was wounded by German Heavy Artillery. He woke up in a hospital in Trieste, Italy with his roommate hovering nearby. His Roommate said, “Hi, I'm Ray Ishler, Don.” “I’m Don Clouse. Ray, you aren't from Rocklake, ND?” “Yep.” So here are these two 17 year old kids from the same home town, wounded, and they end up in the same hospital. They hadn’t seen each other in 5 years. The two were very close buddies as well as our entire families were close. Last I heard from Ray Ishler he was still in North Dakota, and still flabbergasted by the experience.
