TRYSIL BARN AT SEVEVA. Magnificent! John & Johanna lived at the farm at Sveva outside Nybergsund, Trysil. This barn is on that farm today. Clark Satre contributed this photo.
Tullah Froyen organized the USA Trysil group. It was an endless task but here is one reward. She gets to meet her cousin Paul Ericksen face to face for the very first time in Trysil Norway. Thanks for this photo Paul.
Paul and relatives.
Looking forward to info but here is a picture and a half.
Clark Satre's photo from the upper Balcony of the Trysil Luthern Church in late Summer of 2008
Clark Satre writes. This Saetre home has been moved to the outdoor Museum in Trysil but was originally at Saetre and dates back to 1650. Because I have several generations that lived there I assume it is a family home. Clark and Debbie Satre.

What a relief. Paul sent a photo of our friend Hilding Sponberg with his Co-conspiritor Tulla Froyen holding hands while Paul is distracted.
I had a hunch this would gather your attention. This picture is Joe Haberstroh in Hansboro, North Dakota, probably taken in the 1920s or 30s. There were many Finns in the area including around Sarles and Rocklake. My Dad made a Hack like this one, put a little wood heater with a small stove pipe out the roof, and a seat in the rear with an old blanket. Dad cut a slot just under a tiny window for the lines and we were off to school. This was for mornings when it was too cold to get the Model T started or too cold for an open sled. I often wonder if that hack was Dad’s idea or if the Finns brought it over from the Scandinavian countries.
Perhaps someone someday will translate this for us. So far it read's Oct 12 1903 and a photo of Lodingen. And just maybe God Bless Olea Knutsen
Tulla enjoying the home where her Grandmother and Great Grandmother were both raised. It was built in the late 1700s or early 1800s and lived in until 1960. Struck by lightning and believed unfixable but will be preserved by the current owners.
The farm is called Nordgarn Stoa in the Ljordalen valley east of Trysil by the Swedish border. It is in the Trysil District.
What an inviting house.
In the Summer of 2009 The Deer Park class of 1959 celebrated their 50th Class reunion. Also celebrating their 60th class reunion adjacent to them was the 49ers. Pictured here is Ken Westby and his wife CeCe pouring over their 50 yearbook assembled in part by Sharon Boyd Clark. Ken & his cousin Minnie were introduced at this Gala all in the family reception.
Debbie Satre adorns the foudation of the home where Clark's Great Grandmother was born in 1845, Johanna Warner Satre. She passed away in the home of her Granddaughter Ruth and Art Stelting in 1928 in Clayton. Johanna is at rest in Zion Hill Cemetery.
A Welcome Cake baked in honor of Clarke and Debbie for a dinner in their honor the first night in Trysil. About 50 family members came to greet them and made them feel like Royalty.
The Mandfloen family of 15 and Paul.
Odd Mandfloen making Paul a lefsa stick.
Tulla's Grandparents place. I get the feeling this was a rather touching moment.
Boots and Tulla Foyen were there to greet Paul as his bus rolled to stop in Trysil, Norway.
Its believed these are Tryslingers off the beaten path in search of another hidden wonder.
Trysil Lake. Plenty of mixer if you like Bourbon and water
Norwegians are just naturally happy friendly and handsom.. Tulla and Hilding are proof positive. And for all I know cousins to boot.
The youthful Paul Erickson with Mr. Tor Ingvaldeson. The thought's are. Is it likely there are ties with the name, Iverson? Bet cha a quarter.
Paul and a lady that perhaps is aware he's from the United States of America and has all the intentions of keeping her distance. Little does she know that with Paul, she was as safe as if she were in Gods arms.

Small cabin, on the left of the structure has a small sitting and sleeping space.
Tulla Froyen and the excursion group were driven inside this tiny cabin by a sudden rain shower where they had cakes and coffee by candlelight.
These two are one of the Star attractions of the Class of 49. Phyllis Sloan Dale on the left and Minnie Westby (Vestby) Hayworth. Life long friends since 1944. Not all the beautiful Norwegians remained in their native land. Time has been more than kind to the pride of the Clayton Deer Park region.
